Mike Trout rookie cards have been among the hottest hobby items since his Rookie of the Year campaign in 2012.
That tends to happen when you establish yourself as probably the best player in the game at the tender age of 20 and then just keep piling on over the next decade.
With Trout having played in his tenth Major League season during the pandemic-shortened summer of 2020, that means he’s fully qualified for Hall of Fame eligibility down the road. He’s already a first-ballot lock (and has been for awhile), so the only question is … how will he stack up against the greatest of the great when his career if finally fully in the books.
While other players (like Mookie Betts and Bryce Harper) have challenged Trout for one-season supremacy during his run with the Angels, no one (ever) has put together the sustained excellence as the Halos’ centerfielder has over the first decade of his career.
So it’s little wonder that Mike Trout baseball cards jumped to the front of the line and stayed there, almost always appearing on the list of “most expensive” cards sold on eBay and through other venues for any given period of time.
And, thanks to the breadth of the modern card market, there is sure to be a Trout card (or a hundred!) to satisfy just about any collecting taste. Awhile back, for instance, we ran down ten Mike Trout baseball cards that will tickle the older collector’s fancy.
But, as with just about any player, it’s Trout’s rookie cards that have really lit up the hobby over the years, and they continue to draw all sorts of collector interest wherever and whenever they turn up.
To wit, the listings below lay out the most watched Mike Trout rookie cards on eBay, and they’re updated several times a day so you always know what’s trending as the Millville Meteor continues his march towards Cooperstown.
